From starting out as a young roofer to building one of Gloucestershire's established, award-winning construction companies, Trevor Thorn's journey has been built on hard work, determination and a genuinely hands-on approach.
Trevor started working for himself in his early twenties, with little more than a van, his tools and a determination to succeed. What began as a small roofing business gradually evolved into Thorn Homes, not through some grand business plan, but through reputation, repeat business and a willingness to take on the next challenge.
With over 20 years running his own business, Trevor has overseen more than 450 home extensions, 55 new-build houses and numerous commercial projects. Despite the company's growth, he remains a practical, approachable director who believes in straight talking, finding solutions and doing what you say you're going to do. He's even proudly kept the same mobile number for over 25 years!
A long-standing member of the Federation of Master Builders since 2009, Trevor has served on both its regional and national boards, helping champion standards across the construction industry.
Away from work, Trevor is a family man, married for 15 years with three children. The next generation is already taking shape, with his eldest son, Ashton, joining the family business at just 17 to learn estimating, administration and project management through an apprenticeship.
