Since 2008 we've built extensions, renovations and new homes across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, each one run on site by one of our own employed site foremen.
Kitchen-diners, oak-frame rear extensions, two-storey additions, loft conversions and full renovations.
Individual homes and small developments, typically one to six houses, with the option of a 10-year Build Assure structural warranty.
We stand behind our work and stay contactable after completion. Established since 2008 and still here after handover.

New Builds · Cheltenham
This award-winning development involved the acquisition of a site containing three existing garages, which were demolished to make way for a bespoke five-bedroom detached house with a full basement. Built to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint using air-source heat pumps, heat recovery, solar panels, water-restriction devices and upgraded cavity wall insulation. It has an Ashlar stone facade over four storeys and an oak and glass staircase designed to usher in natural light.

This two-storey extension transforms an existing home in Cheltenham, combining style and functionality. The design features Crittall-style doors, bi-fold doors, a roof lantern and a balcony to create light-filled, open-plan living spaces. A luxury en suite and walk-in wardrobe enhance comfort, while the extended layout delivers a modern, family-focused home.

Meet Our Founder
Trevor started out as a young roofer in his early twenties, with little more than a van and his tools. Through reputation and repeat business that grew into Thorn Homes. Over 20 years later he has overseen 450 home extensions and 55 new-build houses, and has served on the Federation of Master Builders' regional and national boards.

Started with Thorn Homes as a carpenter and spent eight years working on site.

Meet Our Partner
Ian began his career with Thorn Homes as a carpenter, quickly establishing himself as someone clients could turn to for advice, guidance and practical solutions. His approachable manner and excellent client-facing skills led to his promotion to Project Manager.
Today, Ian oversees site delivery, coordinating projects, managing subcontractors and trades, and keeping work on schedule. From organising day-to-day site activities to maintaining quality standards and ensuring a smooth handover, his practical experience and hands-on approach help keep every project running efficiently from start to finish.

Meet Our Partner
Carlos joined Thorn Homes in August 2014 to establish a procurement strategy for the business, and became a partner in October 2025. Today he oversees procurement and day-to-day operations, managing costs, coordinating resources and improving how the business operates.
Clients meet Carlos at the pre-commencement meeting before work begins. Throughout their project, he helps with quotations, variations, invoice queries and supplier arrangements, alongside everyday questions about the work. At completion, he supports the handover process and coordinates the issue of the relevant project certificates.
